HEAT weapons requires AP20 or more to one-shot the vehicle (= only high end RPGs and good ATGMs).ġ3 AV: No ground based anti-tank weapons can one-shot the vehicle (KE AP 30 deals 9.5 damage and HEAT AP 26 deals 9 damage).ġ7 AV: No HEAT weapon can one-shot the vehicle at any range (AP30 deals 9 damage). AV 1 is however useless on planes as no small arms can target them.Ħ AV: No KE weapon except the M1A2 Abrams can one-shot the vehicle at maximum range (AP23 deals 9.5 damage). But with the additional condition that HEAT weapons get an additional 0.5 damage bonus for any AP point more than 10 above the AV of the target.Ģ AV (air units): Is amazingly valuable as planes only take HE damage (the HE value is used by AA weapons which got both an AP and a HE value). NOTE: The basic formula for damage is (AP-AV)/2+1 = damage. The vehicle is immune to small arms, takes 40 % of other forms of HE damage and follows the normal HEAT and KE damage charts. The vehicle takes 1 point of damage per point of AP or HE of the gun targeting but only 10 % of the normal damage from small arms and machine guns.Ģ AV: First level of actual armour. They are vulnerable to everything and AP10+ weapons will not only kill the transport but the entire unit inside it as well.ġ AV: Still a death trap. In most cases it is self explanatory with "more is better" but here I have tried to compile a number of key values that helped me to keep track of which units to look out for and which ones most likely can be ignored.Ġ AV: Death traps taking double damage form AP and KE weapons. Wargame Red Dragon is a statistical nightmare for beginners as there are so many unit statistics of different importance.
